Do you look in the mirror and wish you could have a brighter smile? We often work with patients interested in obtaining a whiter smile. Fortunately, we have cosmetic treatments that can remove discoloration. Do you have questions about our teeth whitening options?
Frequently Asked Questions About Teeth Whitening
Question: What causes teeth stains to form?
Answer: Discoloration can form due to a variety of factors. For example, consuming foods high in sugar can lead to plaque buildup, which makes teeth stains more apparent. Poor oral hygiene can also lead to plaque and tartar buildup. Drinks with dark pigments, such as soda, tea, red wine, and coffee, can also stain your smile. Smoking and using other tobacco products can also cause yellow or brown stains to form on your teeth.
Question: Can you really brighten smiles in an hour?
Answer: We can use our in-office procedure to remove stains in about one to two hours. We first place a protective covering over the gums and lips. Next, we apply a powerful bleaching gel the teeth. We then activate the gel using a curing light, which breaks up and lifts stains from the teeth. The entire procedure only takes one visit and you can leave with a noticeably brighter smile.
Question: Do you have a take-home option?
Answer: we do have a take-home option that can brighten teeth by multiple shades in many cases. We send the patient home with a set of plastic trays, as well as a bleaching gel. Each day, the patient will add gel to the trays and wear them for around a half hour to 45 minutes. The total treatment time takes one to two weeks.
